50 Great Activities For Any Classroom

A few years ago I wrote a book on activities to use in the classroom. I have run an INSET on this theme several times since being at Markham, and you can find the resources from this session here. The electronic version of the book is available here, and there is a hard copy in the CPD Library in Upper School.

None of the activities are revolutionary, but rather a collection of different activities that I use in the classroom, that might be useful to others. I wrote this book early in my career as a teacher, mainly as way for me to organise my own thoughts about different classroom activities. Although some of my ideas about education have changed with the recent educational research I have been doing, I still think there is a place for some of these activities in the classroom. They are also not intended to be an exhaustive list of activities to use in the classroom, and since writing the book I have used other activities that are not here (such as these thinking activities, or making use of retrieval practice)

The 50 activities are:
